The Heriot-Watt University Club (Hong Kong) is an alumni / student club; a branch officially endorsed by The Watt Club of Heriot-Watt University in United Kingdom.

Back in November 2003, the Watt-Club Reception was organized in the China Club, some enthusiastic alumni met and knew each others. After that, they raised the issue of gathering the resources of the HK alumni and the possibility of forming the Heriot-Watt University Club in HK. The informal working group started with several meetings in 2004-2005 with originally 8 alumni, and they come from different fields such as University lecturer, CPA, Civil Servant, Business Executives, etc.

The HWUC Hong Kong was officially formed in December 2005 by a group of dedicated alumni who hope to help promote the name of the university by setting up the club platform to which all Heriot-Watt alumni and students can gather and share; bringing together the "Watt" family under one common "Watt" spirit.

To be an engaging and mutually beneficial lifetime link among Heriot-Watt University, and its community of alumni and students worldwide.

There are three missions. First, The HWUC Hong Kong acts as a bridge between Heriot-Watt University and its alumni and students in China, recognizing that this relationship begins in the first year after graduation or start of study. Second, the HWUC Hong Kong will actively organize social and/or academic activities for alumni to strengthen their local and/or worldwide networking, with support of Watt Club. Third, the HWUC Hong Kong will provide a helpful environment to assist students to complete their studies.
